But let’s be clear: this is only a small step in the right direction.

Piecemeal agreements cannot repair the deep economic, social, and political damage caused by Brexit. Supply chains remain disrupted. Small and medium-sized businesses continue to struggle under layers of new red tape. Students, scientists, healthcare workers, and artists face unnecessary barriers to opportunity. And Britain’s voice on the global stage has grown quieter.
